Yoss on ‘30% drop in spam’

Interesting observation. From where I stand, looking at the overall email traffic in the last few weeks, there was a slight slowdown right after new year’s, but that slowdown is already gone and the total email traffic is on the slow-n-steady rise again. If indeed that large botmaster lost a botnet, or if many new computers are out there (I doubt this has any effect), the total number of daily spam from what I can see does not show any signs of slowdown. Surely not 30%.
