Cause it’s the Tax Spam…Yeah, the Tax Spam

As always, spammers are looking for the “news hook” to get their spam through to users’ inboxes. And this week is no holiday, but it is (in the USA at least) tax season. With taxes due April 15, spammers have geared up their efforts at spewing out quantities of tax-related spam. Here is a selection of spam subjects from Commtouch Detection Centers:

• need irs tax relief?
• what the irs doesn’t want you to know!
• end irs problems
• tax notification internal revenue service (irs)

Since I’m just recovering from having been at RSA all week, my brain is working in unusual ways, and I decided to write a song (yes a song) to the tune of the Beatles song “Taxman”. So… here goes (apologies to the Beatles and no rotten tomatoes please….)
